How do I book my wedding with SKMU?
We book up to one year in advance with a signed contract and a 50% nonrefundable retainer of your entire wedding day services. Your date is not secure with Sunkissed and Made Up until your contract and retainer have been received, even if you have had a trial run.
What if I don't know the total # of people who need hair & makeup services on my wedding day?
We book our time, our artists, and our supplies based on the information you book with in your contract. We do require a MINIMUM of 5 hair and/or makeup services on all weddings in Houston and a MINIMUM of 6 total people for out of town weddings (Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, etc). We can only potentially add services, if time allows, after your contract has been signed. We do book multiple events in one day and there is a possibility we will have to say “no” if you wait to add services.
Do you offer and/or recommend trial runs?
Yes, we offer trial runs and feel they are important for a bride to see what she will look like prior to her wedding day. We book appointments for trial runs separate from the wedding day and recommend using that appointment for an engagement session, bridal session, bridal shower, etc.
Trial runs are not offered free of charge and are only offered Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at our hair and makeup studio located at:

Because we primarily book weddings on our Friday through Sunday weekend dates, we don’t open up our books for in studio appointments on Fridays until 2 months out.
Do you offer appointments during the week?
Yes, our weekly hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, at our hair and makeup studio in Southeast Houston. All weekly appts will take place at our studio as we book several appts in one day and want to best utilize our time. We ask that you come to your appt with a clean face, no makeup on, and dry hair. Our hairstylists prefer that you wash and dry your hair the night before your appointment. A Monday appointment can be requested if necessary but a fee of $50 per artist will be charged.
Do you offer to stay for touch ups?
We find that all experienced photographers recommend a MINIMUM of two hours before your ceremony time to begin photos; therefore we will create a timeline of how long we will be there on your wedding day according to the time your photographer would like you to be ready. If you would like for us to stay beyond that time frame, please contact us for a price per hour per artist. If you would like a hair/makeup change, it will be the “touch up” time plus the cost of a second hair and makeup look added to your contract.
What is your cancellation policy?
For all single appts, we REQUIRE a 24 hour cancellation notice or a $25 fee will be charged per artist. We know that Texas weather can be temperamental but we ask that you and your photographer look ahead and make the decision prior to 24 hours to cancel your appointment with Sunkissed and Made Up.
Do you include false lashes?
Yes, the cost of makeup application always includes false lashes. If you have lash extensions or do not want false lashes this does not affect the price of your makeup.
How long will my appointment last?
We allot approximately 45 minutes per appointment if two stylists are available at your appointment or wedding day. We will let you know when booking with us how long your appointment is expected to take.
Do you offer discounts for large bridal parties?
We do not discount based on bulk. We discount through offering hair and makeup as a package and also don’t charge extra for a la carte items like false lashes, hair extension application, or chest bronzing.
What's the best way to contact SKMU?
We use email as our primary mode of communication. We service 500+ clients per year and because of this, we must have a record of our correspondence with each client. We answer emails Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. We do our best to answer all emails within 24 hours.
