We haven’t posted in a hot minute, but we are back and ready to share! I’m Rhiannon, hair guru and blogger here at Sunkissed and over the next couple of months I will be telling you more about our growing team, details about our favorite products, giving you hair and makeup tutorials, and so much more. Without further ado, I will start with some trendy new ways to spice up your hair game. Most of us occasionally wear our hair in a ponytail or messy bun; sometimes we call those bad hair days. We are about to turn those bad hair days into days that we get to have a little extra fun! Below we show you some examples using scrunchies with a half-up pony and half-up messy bun. First, I did my normal messy bun (that can become too messy quickly), and instead of just leaving the bun as is, I put the scrunchy over. I recommend using the scrunchy as an accessory, and use a normal hair tie or elastic to hold the bun in place. This will give you a chance to “perfect” the messy bun before adding the final touch. Scrunchies can be found everywhere right now, Anthropologie, Amazon and even Claire’s have a wide variety. The nude scrunchy with “tails” in the photo is from Free People, and is a little more dressy but I just love it!
Another trend we are loving is taking normal bobby-pins and styling them into a visible design. Below is another photo that shows one of our recent favorite examples of this! Our hairstylist, Jenna, just added a few bobbies to some all-down curled hair and it gave the look so much life! This is something anyone can do at home to change up their normal down hair. Tuck one side of you hair behind the ear, use one bobby-pin to hold it in place, and make your “#” design with other bobby-pins around the first one. There are other unique designs for the bobby-pin hairstyles on Pinterest, if you are wanting to get even more creative.
